Airborne Telephone System: A dual channel SATCOM telephone system including one (1) wireless handset with
base located in the cabin (at the right hand forward facing seat and one (1) spare handset, and one (1) wired handset
installed in the cockpit..
The navigation system includes the following components:
· Air Data System (ADS) – Two (2) digital air data computers are installed. The air data computer uses pitot static
and temperature measurements to compute operating parameters such as pressure altitude, altitude rate, indicated
airspeed, Mach number, vertical speed, maximum operating speed, current barometric correction, and true
airspeed.
· Datalink with Weather Maps - Provides flight crews with graphical weather capability in addition to
the Datalink system, which provides textual information utilizing the Aircraft Addressing and
Reporting System (ACARS) network. The graphical weather products available are: NEXRAD,
NEXRAD with echo tops and movement, weather depiction, wind and temperature forecasts, icing
forecasts and turbulence forecasts. Three different Datalink plans are available from the service
provider.
· Integrated Flight Instrument System (IFIS) –The dual FSU configuration provides the redundancy
required for a chartless capable cockpit. Each FSU enables independently displayed electronic
charts on each MFD. The FSU IFIS can present ground reference information, approach charts,
standard instrument departures (SIDs), standard terminal arrival routes (STARs) and airport surface
charts.
· Enhanced Map Overlays - Provides the display symbology for geo-political boundaries (state and
country boundaries, major water surfaces), airways (high and low altitude) and restricted airspaces
on the two Multi-Function Displays (MFDs). A database subscription, supplied by Rockwell
Collins, is required in order to maintain an up-to-date Enhanced Map Overlays database. The
Geographical (World Wide Coverage) database is updated every 2nd year. The Airspace/Airways
(World Wide Coverage) database is updated every 28 days
· Electronic Flight Instrument System (EFIS) –The EFIS fully integrates the EICAS functions (engine
instrument, crew alerting and synoptic pages).
· Weather Radar – Color weather radar is installed. The radar also provides a ground mapping function.
Enhanced Weather Radar (exchange)
· Radio Altimeter – One (1) radio altimeter is installed with data displayed on the PFD.
· Attitude And Heading Reference System (AHRS) – Two (2) independent Attitude and Heading Reference
Systems (AHRS) are installed. Each system is able to provide aircraft attitude, rate and acceleration information
to the EFIS, AFCS and other systems.
· Very High Frequency (VHF) Navigation – Two (2) VOR/ILS VHF navigation receivers are installed in the
aircraft. Both systems are tuned by the integrated radio tuning system. Dual HF Communication with SELCAL
· Automatic Direction Finder (ADF) – A single Automatic Direction Finder (ADF) is installed. The receiver is
tuned via the integrated tuning system. Second Automatic Direction Finder (ADF)
· Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) – A single Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) transponder is
installed. The DME is tuned via the integrated radio tuning system.
· Global Positioning System (GPS) – A single GPS sensor, meeting the requirements of TSO c129, Class B1
requirements, is installed. Second Global Positioning System (GPS)
· Flight Management System (FMS) – A single Flight Management System (FMS) is installed. A single data
loader is provided. The FMS is able to load information from, and download information to, the data loader.
Major functions of the FMS include:
Second Flight Management System (FMS)
Dual FMS V-Speed
Fully coupled lateral and vertical navigation (with interface to the flight director)
Flight planning (with worldwide database)
Blended radio navigation (GPS, VOR, DME, etc.)
Fuel performance computing
Remote radio tuning
ACARS management and display (option)
